VIZUAL EDGE BECOMES VISION

TRAINING PARTNER OF THE USHL

April 25, 2019

CHICAGO, ILLINOIS (April 29, 2019) – Vizual Edge, a leading research and development company focusing on visual performance training for athletes, has joined forces with the United States Hockey League (USHL), the nation’s only Tier I junior hockey league, becoming its official supplier of visual training services. The supplier sponsorship agreement between the two organizations will focus heavily on enhancing visibility of and access to the Edge Trainer, Vizual Edge’s training system at upcoming youth hockey events. USHL Combine participants will first be introduced to Vizual Edge at the USHL Combine event at the Arctic Ice Arena, in Orland Park, Illinois on April 18-21, 2019.

Utilizing technology previously reserved for professional athletes, Vizual Edge developed the Edge Trainer to serve athletes at all levels. The computer-based training module combines 3D technology with decades of advanced clinical research in sports vision to sharpen neural pathways between the eyes and brain. Athletes go through a series of training sessions designed to improve the speed, coordination, and overall efficiency of their eye movements based on six core visual skills, including convergence, divergence, depth perception, alignment, recognition, and tracking. Hockey players, specifically, enjoy improved puck tracking, passing abilities, rebounding, anticipation, and positional and spatial awareness as a result of the training.

“This is our first major partnership with a hockey league where we’ll have the opportunity to not only collaborate with the top junior league in the US and world, but also have the opportunity to showcase our product to youth players across America,” said Adam Micheletti, Vice President of Hockey at Vizual Edge. “Our product, the Edge Trainer, is able to provide positional player comparisons alongside detailed reports to help players, coaches, and scouts evaluate, analyze, and train each player.”

With a shared vision to increase player proficiency at the amateur youth level, the collaboration between Vizual Edge and the USHL affords both organizations with an opportunity to bring value-added benefits to youth athletes who attend USHL events and promotional activities. In addition to the USHL Combines, Vizual Edge will be present at the USHL Fall Classic, various USHL youth hockey events, USHL Annual Meetings, USHL Top Prospects Game, and others.

"We are proud to partner with Vizual Edge as the official supplier of visual training services to the United States Hockey League,” said Tom Garrity, President & Commissioner of the USHL. “We look forward to working with them to improve player development through this new technology."

USHL Combine participants can sign up for onsite baseline evaluations prior to each scheduled event with test results comparing each player against others their age, USHL players, NCAA players, and NHL players.

Special prices will be extended to USHL teams and individual players who purchase baseline evaluations and additional training sessions directly from Vizual Edge at each Combine event. Athletes typically see results in as little as 4-6 weeks of training.
