Vizual Edge, a leading visual assessment and performance training company for athletes, has announced a partnership with the University of Missouri Baseball program for the 2020-2021 season. A member of the SEC, arguably the most competitive conference in all of college baseball, Head Coach Steve Bieser and the rest of his program are looking to build on strong 2020 season that was cut short, like all athletics this past spring, due to COVID-19.
“Baseball is a game that requires great vision to be an elite performer, we are very excited to be partnering with Vizual Edge to help our players improve their decision making skills, process information more quickly and improve their vision to see the game more clearly.”
-Head Coach Steve Bieser, on the Vizual Edge partnership
With a joint commitment to positively impact the lives of student-athletes, Vizual Edge is excited to help Coach Bieser and his players make an impact both on the field and in the classroom this upcoming year by improving their core-six visual processing skills.
Jason Hagerty, a former member of the Padres organization and now Hitting and Catching Coach at Mizzou, played an integral role in bringing Vizual Edge's technology to Columbia:
"Great vision allows hitters to make precise swing decisions. We are very excited for the opportunity to partner with Vizual Edge to help our players improve in an extremely important aspect of the game of baseball."
Utilizing technology previously reserved for professional athletes, Vizual Edge created the Edge Trainer. The computer-based training module combines 3D technology with decades of advanced clinical research in sports vision to sharpen neural pathways between the eyes and brain. Delivering a series of training sessions designed to improve the speed, coordination, and efficiency of an individual’s eye movements, users of the Edge Trainer enjoy improved timing, balance, hand-eye coordination, reaction time, and decision making.
